"The Lazy Song" is a song recorded by American singer-songwriter Bruno Mars, released as the third single from his debut studio album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans (2010). Atlantic and Elektra serviced the song to mainstream radio in the United States on February 15, 2011. "The Lazy Song" was released in the United Kingdom as a CD single on May 8, 2011.
Development of "The Lazy Song" began while Bruno Mars, Philip Lawrence and Ari Levine were hanging around the studio and didn’t felt like working. Mars wrote the song in collaboration with singer-songwriter, K'naan and his production team The Smeezingtons, who also produced the track. Musically, "The Lazy Song" borrows from roots reggae music on it's production and composition, some critics considered the song one of the top tracks of the album.; the lyrics are about not doing a thing for a full day, while lying on the bed just to loose.
